With a little more development in color and profile, this wine leans towards the piney, perfumed, white pepper and kirsch side of Syrah. Intensely savory with a blitz of acidity on the palate, there’s a delicacy and lightness-on-its-feet to the mixed berry, cold forest flavors. The whole-cluster spice is undeniable, and will give this wine time to not only reveal more secondary traits, but gradually mellow what are now quite persistent tannins. Without a doubt one of the most thought-provoking wines of the bunch, almost paradoxical in its maturity yet tautness. (Tasted October 2023)
